Former Inter Milan superstar Samuel Eto'o has admitted he was hurt by Jose Mourinho's decision to become Roma's new manager.
The Cameroon legend starred under the Portuguese tactician at Inter in the 2009/10 season, winning an incredible six trophies, including a famous treble.
Eto'o also later worked with Mourinho at Chelsea in the Premier League, scoring a total of 28 goals and assisting a further 16 strikes in 83 matches in those two spells under the manager.
Speaking in a recent interview, the ex-Indomitable Lions captain admitted he did not like seeing Mourinho join Roma, but also insisted that their friendship is more important than any rivalry.
"It hurt me, I am not going to lie, to see the one who gave me the chance to win titles in Italy to go to another (Italian) club," Eto'o told AS.
"But I know that he is happy and our friendship is above everything. I would have liked to see Mourinho at Inter again.
"But I will always wish him luck at Roma. But he has to understand that no matter how much I love him, for me, Inter will always come before."
