It has been claimed that Inter Milan striker Romelu Lukaku could be readying himself for an €80 million (R1.3 million) move after Antonio Conte's exit from the Serie A champions.
The Nerazzurri announced on Wednesday night that they had parted ways with Conte, just weeks after he guided the club to its first league title since 2010.
The reason for the manager's eagerness to walk away was reportedly down to Inter making it clear that a number of players have to be sold in the upcoming transfer window amid the club's economic struggles.
Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri has now claimed that the 2020/21 Serie A winners are willing to sell Lukaku for a fee of €80 million, despite his importance to the team.
Furthermore, Lukaku's agent has reportedly already been contacted by the forward's former club Chelsea, whom he joined as a teenager from Anderlecht in 2011.
Blues boss Thomas Tuchel is said to be interested in bringing in a new centre-forward ahead of the 2021/22 campaign, after Timo Werner's difficult start to life in England following his move from RB Leipzig.
Erling Haaland and Harry Kane have also been linked with Chelsea, but Lukaku's relationship with the London club could potentially be a big factor in where he goes to next.
The 28-year-old has scored 64 goals and assisted a further 16 strikes in 95 appearances for Inter since his arrival from Manchester United in 2019.
