New AS Roma manager Jose Mourinho is reportedly close to making his first two signings from the Premier League for the Italian club.
The Portuguese tactician is looking to rebuild the Serie A side after it was confirmed he would succeed countryman Paulo Fonseca in the club's dugout in April, and he has already been linked with a number of players.
Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio has reported that Roma are in negotiations to sign Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka and Wolverhampton Wanderers goalkeeper Rui Patricio.
It is claimed that the Serie A side will concluded negotiations for both Patricio and Xhaka in the "coming days", although both players are currently at the UEFA European Championship.
Mourinho and Patricio share the same agent, Jorge Mendes, which is believed to be why personal terms have reportedly been revealed before the clubs seemingly agree a transfer fee.
According to Sky Italia, meanwhile, Wolves are looking for a fee of between £10.3 million (R204 million) and £12.8 million (R254 million) for the shot-stopper after a £6.8 million (R135 million) bid had already been rejected.
There is also expected to be a few outgoings at the Stadio Olimpico before the start of the new season, with striker Edin Dzeko being linked with a move to Major League Soccer side Los Angeles Galaxy.
