Juventus have announced the permanent signing of Weston McKennie from Schalke 04, three months before the next transfer window officially opens.
The 22-year-old joined Juve on an initial loan deal, which included an option to make the move permanent, in September last year.
On Wednesday, the Bianconeri announced that they have agreed to sign McKennie for a fee of €18.5 million (R334 million), to be paid over three years, with the player agreeing to a four-year contract.
"Juventus Football Club S.p.A. has exercised the option right for the definitive acquisition of the registration rights of the player Weston McKennie from FC Gelsenkirchen-Schalke 04 e. V for a consideration of €18.5 million, payable in three years," a statement on the club's official website read.
"The consideration may increase up to additional €6.5 million on achieving given conditions over the course of the duration of the contract.
"Juventus and the player have signed a contract of employment until 30 June 2025."
So far, the USA international has made 31 appearances for the Italian giants, scoring five goals.
