Soccer Laduma was in attendance for PUMA and Milan's jersey launch on Monday, hosted by an all-women panel, which would have been the first clue as to what the two super brands had in mind for this unveiling. Oh, and South Africa's very own Refiloe Jane was among those modelling the kit!
For the first time in Serie A history, a women's side will debut a club's new home kit, with the jersey set to be worn by Milan's women's team when they take on Sassuolo this Saturday.
In a press release, PUMA stated that "the new AC Milan home kit celebrates what it means to 'Move Like Milan', reflecting the rapid acceleration of the city's culture as it reinvents itself.
"The kit features Milan's iconic red and black stripes reinterpreted at various widths in a single, symmetrical design, celebrating the creative balance of tradition and modernity giving rise to a new Milan, from the pitch to the streets to the city skyline."
The Rossoneri women's team captain Valentina Giacinti added: "I'm really excited to be wearing this kit on the pitch for the first time in our next game. I love the design, modern yet traditional, and how it has been influenced by the city of Milan."
