Serie A giants AC Milan have lost one of their key performers of the previous campaign to crosstown rivals Inter Milan ahead of the new season.
With attacking midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu's contract with the Rossoneri expiring at the end of this month, it has been confirmed that he will officially become a Nerazzurri player on 1 July.
The Turkey international, who has signed a three-year deal with the defending Serie A champions, has now joined the likes of Andrea Pirlo and Clarence Seedorf in making a direct switch between the Milan outfits.
"FC Internazionale Milano can confirm that Hakan Calhanoglu has joined the Nerazzurri," a statement from the club's official website read.
"The 27-year-old midfielder has signed a deal with the club lasting until 30 June 2024."
Calhanoglu, who is a dead-ball specialist, racked up nine goals and 12 assists in 43 appearances for the Rossoneri last season.
He becomes Inter's third signing ahead of the 2021/22 campaign after Matteo Darmian and Fikayo Tomori's loan moves were made permanent.
