Italian striker Mario Balotelli was reportedly refused entry into Brescia's training ground this week, amid news that the club is looking to terminate his contract.
When he joined the Serie A side in August 2019, the 29-year-old signed a three-year contract, but failed to report for training for a numbers of days after lockdown regulations in Italy were eased recently.
Seemingly as a result, Balotelli was offered a contract termination by mutual consent last week, according to Sky Sports, and although the former Manchester City player rejected it, the club later sent his representatives a letter stating that his contract would come to an end.
It is understood that the forward sent an email to the club on Monday night explaining that he would appear for training on Tuesday following a bout of gastroenteritis, but the email was only seen the next day, per Sky Sports, with the club telling the striker they had not prepared any training for him.
After he was rejected entry to the team's training ground on Tuesday, he spoke briefly to a club official, and as he walked back towards his car, he reportedly told media following him, "Now say that I don't want to train."
Since joining his hometown club from Marseille last year, Balotelli has found the back of the net five times in 19 Serie A appearances.
