Football legend Diego Maradona has claimed that an African star playing in Italy would be at FC Barcelona or Real Madrid if he was white.

Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly has been in phenomenal form for the Italian side this season, even gaining praise from club legend Maradona.
Believing the Senegalese has been the best defender in Italy's top flight this season, the Argentine has insisted Koulibaly would be playing for a bigger club if he was white.
"He (Koulibaly) is phenomenal, the best defender in Serie A," he told Piuenne.
"There is a lot of racism around him. If he was white, he'd be playing for Real Madrid or Barcelona!"

The defender has played 39 matches across all competitions this season, and has made a total of 78 appearances for Napoli since his arrival at the club in 2014.
