Inter Milan director, Piero Ausilio claims they can afford to buy Real Madrid superstar, Cristiano Ronaldo but he explains why a deal could not happen.

Los Blancos purchased Ronaldo from Manchester United for a then world-record fee of £90 million in 2009.
Ausilio claims Inter's owners, the Suning Group, have the funds to buy world superstars like Ronaldo but claims a deal can't take place due to Financial Fair Play regulations.
"The new Chinese owners could comfortably buy the most famous players in the world, such as Cristiano Ronaldo, but the truth is we can't do that because of Financial Fair Play, which takes into account the development of the club," Ausilio told students at the Universita degli Studi in Milan
"It's a path that takes time, ideas and management. We have to make as few mistakes as possible, certainly fewer than we've made this term."
Inter have once again missed out on a European place this season, and have since parted ways with Stefano Pioli, who only took over in November.
