Coppa Italia Report: Juventus v SPAL 27 January 2021

Result: Juventus 3-0 SPAL

Date: 27 January 2021

Venue: Allianz Stadium

Juventus, who were without Cristiano Ronaldo advanced to the semi-finals of the Coppa Italia with a 4-0 victory over SPAL on Wednesday evening.

Ronaldo was rested for the quarter-final, with only Dejan Kulusevski and Federico Bernardeschi surviving from Sunday's 2-0 victory over Bologna in Serie A.

Juventus had the breakthrough in the opening 16 minutes after Alvaro Morata sent SPAL goalkeeper Etrit Berisha the wrong way from the spot after a foul in the area on Adrien Rabiot.

The travelling side started to push forward closer to the midway stage amidst trailing the Bianconeri, but the finishing from their front men proved disappointing in the end.

Pressure however still remained with SPAL shortly before the break, as Aaron Ramsey volleyed a ball at the back-post against the side-netting from good work by Morata and Gianluca Frabotta.

Juvents bagged a second goal 12 minutes before the break after Frabotta seized control in the area to blaze a cross from Kulusevski past a scrambling Berisha.

Bernardeschi, who battled to continue near the end of the first half following a knock, was removed at the restart as Alessandro Di Pardo came on for his first-team debut.

Juventus raided the visitors' goal early on through a snap shot from a tight angle by Kulusevski followed by another smart attempt in the area from the Swede which Berisha parried.

The pressure play from Andrea Pirlo's boys paid off in the last 12 minutes when Kulusevski finally got the better of Berisha with a composed finish from a ball by Federico Chiesa.

Juve made it four in time added on after Chiesa managed to get on the end of a ball from substitute Marco Da Graca to fire home to complete the rout.
