The 41-year-old was announced as the new Bianconeri coach soon after Sarri was fired following Juve's exit from the UEFA Champions League at the hands of Olympique Lyon last week.
Pirlo signed a two-year deal with the Serie A giants on Saturday, having initially been employed to be the club's U23 coach just 10 days before that.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, the former Italy midfielder has agreed to a relatively low salary, with only three players in the squad receiving less than the €1.8 million (R37 million) annual salary, plus bonuses, he is set to be paid.
That is less than one-fifteenth of what the club's top earner Ronaldo receives, and only Merih Demiral, Gianluigi Buffon and third-choice goalkeeper Carlo Pinsoglio pocket less.
Pirlo's annual salary is also a lot less than what his predecessors were getting, with Sarri said to have earned €5.5 million (R114 million) in his year in charge of the club, while Massimiliano Allegri was paid €7.5 million (R155 million) annually during his time in Turin.
