Mourinho, who recently said he is hoping for a few "gifts" from the club's board, seems to be ready to strengthen his side in the transfer window to give himself the best chance of succeeding in the Italian capital.
According to CalcioMercato, the former Chelsea boss is planning a raid on the Blues, with left-backs Emerson and Marcos Alonso said to be on his radar after Leonardo Spinazzola suffered a long-term injury while representing Italy at the 2020 UEFA European Championship.
The same publication has claimed that Roma have expressed an interest in Denmark international Mikkel Damsgaard, who has performed impressively for his country at the continental tournament over the past month.
Damsgaard, 20, currently plays for Sampdoria in Serie A, but has reportedly also attracted attention from Roma's league rivals Juventus.
In goal, it seems the Giallorossi will add Portugal international Rui Patricio to their roster, with the veteran shot-stopper reportedly close to joining the club from Premier League side Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Mourinho is also still believed to be chasing Granit Xhaka's signature, with the Arsenal midfielder having previously admitted to being flattered by speculation suggesting this.
