According to Cadena SER, Los Blancos are said to be considering salary cuts of between 12% and 20%, but what does that mean for the club's senior players like Eden Hazard and Sergio Ramos?
With a percentage not yet agreed by the 13-time UEFA Champions League winners' hierarchy, we slashed Real's 10 best-paid players' reported weekly salaries by 12%, using wage figures published by Total Sportek to determine how much they could be earning after the pay cut is enforced.
For Hazard, who earns £400 000 (R9.3 million) every week, £48 000 would come off his wage with a 12% cut, meaning the Belgium international would earn around £352 000 (R8.2 million) after deductions are made.

Ramos, the team's captain and third-best earner, would get about £176 000 (R4.1 million) a week after deductions.
Given that no one can predict when the coronavirus crisis will end, it is not clear how long these salary cuts will be in place, or if the LaLiga giants will enforce bigger cuts.
If Real cut their players' wages by 12%, they would save £28 million (R653 million), per Cadena Ser. At a 20% cut, the club would save as much £49 million (R1.1 billion).
