Vinicius 'Makes' Decision On Big Money Saudi Offer

Vinicius Junior has reportedly made a decision on whether he will accept a big-money offer from Saudi Arabia or remain at Real Madrid.

While the likeliest departure from the Santiago Bernabeu at the moment seems to be that of Carlo Ancelotti, Vinicius Junior was also mooted as a possible exit from the Spanish capital. Earlier this season, it was rumoured that the 24-year-old was considering a move to the oil-rich kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The Saudi Pro League is looking to attract more players in their prime, and the Brazilian attacker was alleged to be a top priority for the league. It is understood that the skilful winger was in talks to possibly make the lucrative switch.

It is believed that Public Investment Fund-owned clubs were willing to hand the perennial Ballon d’Or contender a mammoth €1 billion (R21.5 billion) contract to lure him away from Los Merengues. However, the proposed deal would have required a five-year commitment.

According to Cadena SER, the length of the contract is a sticking point for Vinicius, who would possibly be open to signing for only a year or two — something the PIF is reportedly not keen on.

Consequently, talks with the Saudi clubs have stalled, and the same report claims that extension negotiations with Los Blancos have gotten underway. He is now poised to sign a new deal for a further two or three years.

The Sao Gonçalo native has two years remaining on his existing deal, but the Spanish giants are unlikely to leave his contract renewal to the last minute.
