Sergio Ramos To Leave Real Madrid For Free?

Sergio Ramos' Real Madrid future appears to be in doubt after surprising reports emerged from Spain regarding his contract situation.

Ramos could be set to leave Los Blancos when his contract expires at the end of next season, with AS reporting that the club has not approached him nor his agent about an extension on his current deal.

It is further claimed that contract talks with the club captain are not seen as a priority by Real at this stage following the outbreak of the coronavirus, with such discussions set to take place next season instead.

However, there is a possibility that no new deal will be forthcoming for the 34-year-old, with his age and high wages reportedly counting against his chances of sealing an extension with the LaLiga giants.

Ramos joined Real from Sevilla in 2005 for a then-Spanish record fee for a defender of €27 million (R530 million), and has made 640 appearances across all competitions since – the fifth most by any player in the club's history.
