Report: Real Madrid Want African Premier League Golden Boot Winner

Spanish giants Real Madrid are reportedly keen to sign an African superstar, who was one of the three Golden Boot winners in the Premier League last season, to fill the void left by Cristiano Ronaldo.

Los Blancos are still trying to fill the gap left by their all-time record goalscorer, who netted 450 times in 438 games during his nine seasons at the club.

Ronaldo scored at an average of 50 goals per campaign, while Real's top scorer so far this season is Karim Benzema with 19 strikes.

As a consequence, Zinedine Zidane and his recruitment team are looking for new options to fill the goalscoring void left by the Portugal superstar.

France Football has now reported that Zidane is keen to bring Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to the Santiago Bernabeu.

It is claimed that Real have enquired about Aubameyang, who shared last season's EPL Golden Boot with Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane.

The 30-year-old's current contract with Arsenal expires in 2021, and he is yet to put pen to paper on a new deal with the club.

It is believed that Aubameyang wants to play UEFA Champions League football, but it seems unlikely that the Gunners will qualify for next season's edition of the competition, as thy are currently in ninth spot on the Premier League table right now.

With the Gabonese striker unwilling to commit his future at this moment in time, Arsenal could be keen on to sell him for a reported fee of €50 million after the current campaign rather than lose him for free the following season.
