Real Madrid teenager Rodrygo Goes, who has enjoyed a successful debut campaign in the Spanish capital, has revealed why he calls Luka Modric "dad".
The 19-year-old, who has scored nine goals and registered two assists in 28 appearances across all competitions for Los Blancos so far in this campaign, recently explained why he refers to the 2018 Ballon d'Or winner, who is 34, as his father around the club.
"When he (Modric) found out that my father was 35 years old, he didn't believe it," Rodrygo said in a live broadcast on Twitter, as per Marca.
"He then told me I should respect him as he was old enough to be my father.
"Since then, he always calls me son and I call him dad."
The former Santos prodigy was also asked if he has any superstitions on a matchday.
"I always put the right boot and right shin pad on first," Rodrygo added.
"Then I tie the right boot, and when I get onto the pitch I always take the first step with my right foot, and I never step on the line.
"I won't say anymore because they are a little crazy."
