One of Real Madrid's star players is reportedly considering making a shock retirement from football at the end of the season.

According to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, Toni Kroos is reportedly in the midst of deciding if he should hang up his boots at the end of this campaign or extend his contract by one more year.
The German is in the final months of his current deal at the Santiago Bernabeu, but the 33-year-old does not want to play for any other side but Los Blancos.
It is said the midfielder loves the Spanish champions and wants to retire at the club, but is not sure if he wants to do so this season or at the end of the next campaign.
The Real hierarchy are understood to be prepared to extend Kroos' nine-year stay with them, and are waiting for the 2014 FIFA World Cup winner to decide if he wants to make it a decade-long tenure with them.
The elegant playmaker made his way to the Spanish capital in 2014, having been brought in from Bayern Munich by Carlo Ancelotti, and it seems his career with Los Merengues will end with the Italian at the helm as well.
Kroos has established himself as one of the most decorated players in Real's history during his stay at the club.

He has held the UEFA Champions League trophy aloft four times, the LaLiga title three times and the FIFA Club World Cup on five occasions as a Real player.
While the Greifswald native thinks about the end of his career, his immediate attention will be required in the Spanish top flight, with the Madrid Derby against Atletico Madrid set to take place this weekend.
