The 14-time European champions will take on the Premier League leaders at the Santiago Bernabeu in the first leg of their last four tie next Tuesday night.
Los Blancos will be hoping a positive result at home will see them go to the Etihad Stadium a week later with an advantage, but not many consider Carlo Ancelotti's men to be favourites for the encounter.
That is largely due to the impressive football City are currently playing, but also because of Haaland, who has scored 51 goals across all competitions for the English side since his arrival.
Real winger Rodrygo Goes is wary of the threat the 22-year-old poses, admitting players and coaches are yet to figure out how to keep the Norway international quiet.
"Haaland scores a lot of goals, no one knows how to stop him," he told RTVE.
"I hope he doesn't score against us.
"Manchester City is always scary. They are a great team, they play very well, but we are confident that we can win."
The Brazilian also insisted that Real's Copa del Rey final against Osasuna this weekend will be taken incredibly seriously.
"Osasuna are a very good team. We know it will be difficult, but for Real Madrid, it is never just another title," he added.
"Whenever we play a final, we are going to fight because we want to win.
"Many of us here are missing the Copa del Rey and we are going to try to win it."
