Real Madrid star Raphael Varane has hit back at critics who claim the Video Assistant Referee favours his side after they awarded a penalty for a third straight game.
Goals from Benzema and Marco Asensio helped Los Blancos claim a 2-0 win over Deportivo Alaves on Friday night.
Benzema'a 18th league goal of the season came via the penalty spot, while VAR come to the side's rescue for Asensio's goal which was initially deemed offside.
"Outside noise doesn't matter to us. We are focused on winning and giving everything on the pitch," the defender told Movistar.
"We don't control the VAR, we control the effort and attitude we show on the pitch."
Varane has also urged his side to remain focused with just three games left in the season.
"We are focused on our objective. We have three finals left to play," he told El Chiringuito, as per Marca.
"It was important to win and maintain our positive form. We need the whole group to be together, and keep working together."
