LaLiga giants Real Madrid are looking to sign one of the world's most in-demand teenagers, who has already been backed to surpass the likes of Kylian Mbappe and Karim Benzema.
Los Blancos manager Zinedine Zidane is said to be interested in the services of 16-year-old Olympique Lyon wonderkid Rayan Cherki, who became the French club's youngest-ever goalscorer earlier this year.
According to Spanish publication El Confidencial, Zidane is a strong admirer of Cherki and hopes to beat off competition from other suitors for his signature, with the player himself said to favour a move to the LaLiga outfit.
This follows after the France youth international, who is of Italian and Algerian descent, recently admitted it would be a dream to play for Real during a recent interview on Lyon's official channel, OLTV, as reported by Bleacher Report.
"I see him (Cherki) a bit like an extraterrestrial, in the sense that he decides games with technical skills that you've never seen before," Lyon's U15 coach Cyrille Dolce told 20 Minutes last year.
"I've never known which was his stronger foot."
