Real Madrid 'Close' To Making €120m Signing

Real Madrid reportedly held a meeting with the father of their €120 million target.

Real Madrid have reportedly taken a significant step in their pursuit of a €120 million (R2.3 billion) teenage sensation's signature.

While Jude Bellingham's future remains up in the air, one possibility that remains unlikely is his club Borussia Dortmund's retention of the Englishman's services.

The German outfit have reportedly made a last-ditch effort to convince the 19-year-old to stay beyond this campaign, but it seems the central midfielder's destiny lies away from Signal Iduna Park.

A number of Europe's powerhouses are willing to part with the reported €120 million for the Stourbridge native, with the likes of Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester City tipped as likely destinations for the box-to-box midfielder, but it appears it is a club outside of the player's home nation that is making the biggest strides in securing his services.

According to Footmercato, Los Blancos have now met with the player's father in England to discuss a possible move to the Santiago Bernabeu.

It is said that Bellingham's dad, Mark, met with the 14-time European champions' chief international scout Juni Calafart at the Chelsea Harbor hotel in London.

It is claimed Calafart presented the player's father with a presentation on Los Merengues' vision for the future.

The Brazilian-born scout is credited as the main protagonist in bringing the likes of Vinicius Junior, Rodrygo, Fede Valverde and, most recently, Endrick to the LaLiga club.

News of Real pushing for Bellingham's signature comes amid reports that Luka Modric could put an end to an illustrious decade in the Spanish capital.

He, along with long-time midfield partner Toni Kroos, may end his Real career at the end of the campaign, opening the door for the 22-capped Englishman to challenge for a regular starting berth alongside the likes of Aurelien Tchouameni and Eduardo Camavinga should he complete the move to Spain.
