Despite the football calendar being disrupted by the coronavirus, LaLiga giants Real Madrid have not stopped planning for the future, and are now reportedly closing in on a deal to sign a Paris Saint-Germain star.
Real are one of a number of clubs around the world who have been left in limbo after football activities were suspended due to the coronavirus, but Zinedine Zidane's Los Blancos appear to be using their time off to complete some business away from the pitch.
According to Spanish publication AS, Real are hoping to sign on-loan goalkeeper Alphonse Areola on a permanent deal from PSG after the France international impressed Zidane when called upon this season.
Areola has made eight appearances across all competitions as Thibaut Courtois' back-up this season, and the Spanish outfit are said to want to continue with the 27-year-old as their No. 2 in goal for the 2020/21 campaign.
It is also claimed that PSG, in turn, want to sign AC Milan shot-stopper Gianluigi Donnarumma, and would thus be willing to part ways with Areola, who made more than 100 appearances for the French club prior to his move to Madrid.
Should Real complete a deal for the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner, it is likely that highly-rated Ukraine goalkeeper Andriy Lunin will leave, while Zidane's son Luca is also set to be moved on in the next window.
