The reason for Luka Modric's outburst at being substituted by Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti yet again on the weekend has reportedly been revealed.

It is no secret that the Los Blancos legend has not been particularly happy about his lack of prominence under the Italian tactician this season.
Since becoming a Madridista in 2012, the Croatian has been an integral figure for the Spanish giants, but in this campaign, the playmaker has only completed an entire match once in 17 appearances across all competitions.
This past weekend, the 2018 Ballon d'Or winner was substituted off in the 70th minute, making way for Dani Ceballos shortly after Real Betis had cancelled out Jude Bellingham's opener in the 1-1 draw.
Modric, who's disposition is usually calm, was visibly frustrated as he made his way to the bench, kicking a number of bottles en route to taking a seat.
When asked about the icon's temperament following his substitution in a post-match press conference, manager Ancelotti exhibited bemusement as to why Modric would behave in this way, but according to Defensa Central, the five-time UEFA Champions League winner was angry with his own performance and not his manager's decision to replace him.

The same report claims that the 38-year-old made it clear to the former AC Milan and Chelsea boss before leaving Seville that his behaviour had nothing to do with his decision as he felt he missed key passes and took poor shots at goal.
