After his recent and public criticism of one of his former France teammates, Real Madrid superstar Karim Benzema has shown no sign that he is willing to retract his statement.
The Los Blancos forward went live on Instagram earlier this week, and was asked by a fan how he believes he compares to France boss Didier Deschamps' current No. 9 Olivier Giroud, to which he responded with harsh words for his ex-colleague.
The Chelsea forward essentially replaced Benzema when the Los Blancos man was expelled from national team duty after his involvement in a sex tape blackmailing scandal in 2015.
In another Instagram Live session, the 32-year-old doubled down on the Blues target man, insisting he simply told the truth previously.
"About Giroud, I simply told the truth," he said.
"But we didn't remember what I said about him, especially about what he brings to the French national team.
"We just remembered the moment when I said I was F1 and he was karting. That's what I think, that's the truth, and that's how it is.
"Because now, if you ask me with 'R9' (Ronaldo Nazario): R9 is F1, and I am karting. That's the way it is. We're going to move on."
