In an interview with ESPN, former Los Blancos defender Cicinho revealed how Real president Florentino Perez made a massive offer to Zidane in an attempt to convince him not to retire.
During his time with Real, Zidane scored 49 goals in 227 appearances, before later coaching the club's Castilla side and then being appointed head coach of Los Blancos.
