Los Blancos' record signing enjoyed some time off during the latest international break after he decided to retire from Belgium duty following the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
Having returned to training this week, Hazard took part in a training game in which the first team mixed with the club's reserve team, also known as their Castilla side.
According to Spanish outlet Relevo, however, the 32-year-old struggled to keep up with the intensity of the match, having a hard time dribbling past some reserve players and being physically outmatched by his counterparts.
Manager Carlo Ancelotti was watching on the sidelines and would perhaps have felt vindicated in his decision to only play Hazard on seven occasions across all competitions so far this season.
When the Italian tactician was quizzed on the former Chelsea man's lack of minutes recently, the 63-year-old gave a brutal response.
"I'm not here to give each player minutes, I'm here to win games," he told Eleven Belgium.
"I put the best starting XI to win games. I don't look at how much a player earns or his age, it's just about performances."
