With rumours of increasing interest in Kylian Mbappe from the Premier League, Real Madrid are said to have become worried, and have now reportedly handed him an ultimatum.

There is now seemingly a new chapter in the transfer saga involving Los Blancos and the Bondy native.
When the 24-year-old rejected Paris Saint-Germain's offer of another contract extension during the off-season, the football fraternity at large were under the assumption the pacey attacker would be making his long-mooted move to the Santiago Bernabeu.
However, according to Sport, things may not be that straightforward. The Spanish publication claims that while the record European champions remain in pole position to land his signature, club president Florentino Perez wants assurances from Mbappe and his entourage that he will not mislead him like they did in 2022.
The situation then was similar to what is happening now. Mbappe ran down his contract in Paris and while many expected him to sign with Los Merengues, he ended up inking a new deal with PSG instead, which is currently still in place.
Les Parisiens are expected to offer the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner another deal, but it is believed that will also be rejected.
It is further claimed that it is not the Ligue 1 champions Real are wary of, but rather Liverpool and Chelsea.
The same report suggests that Perez is not interested in entering a bidding war with the English clubs as he is aware of their ability to spend big, especially the Blues.
The LALIGA giants were even willing to allow Mbappe to extend with PSG, so long as there was an achievable release clause included in the contract so the two teams could mend their fractured relationship, but Mbappe is seemingly not eager on such an agreement as it would come at the expense of a prospective signing bonus.

Perez has consequently asked the France captain to give him assurances that he will sign with his team by the end of January; if not, they will be looking at other striking targets to fill the gap.
