It has been largely speculated that Los Blancos will part ways with Carlo Ancelotti at the end of the season, when his contract with the club expires.
The 64-year-old seems to be the favourite to step into the Brazil national team hot seat, and in the meantime, the Spanish giants are also believed to be preparing for his successor.
Their former midfield star, Alonso, is now manager of Bayer Leverkusen, who are currently top of the Bundesliga – the Black and Reds were a place above the relegation zone when he took over at the beginning of last season.
They also enjoyed a run to the UEFA Europa League semi-finals, seemingly catching Real's attention in the process.
The ex-Liverpool and Bayern Munich playmaker recently signed an extension to stay at the Bayer Arena until 2026, but according to Sport Bild, Alonso and the German outfit agreed that should either the Merseyside giants, Los Merengues or Die Roten produce a suitable offer, he would be given the green light to leave.

In the case of Anfield, Jurgen Klopp is said to be interested in the Germany job when his contract runs down, potentially leaving room for the 2010 FIFA World Cup winner to become the Reds' new manager, while Bayern could also look to snap up their former star should he pip them to the league title this season.
