The Portuguese forward is experiencing a great debut campaign in Italy, having scored 17 goals in Serie A thus far.

Ronaldo may have jumped to the front of the Capocannoniere race, but his poor free-kick record this season has now made the headlines.

According to FOX Sports Asia, the 34-year-old has the worst free-kick record in the league, having attempted to score from 13 opportunities and converted none.

Ronaldo's record is the worst in Serie A, with only Napoli's Lorenzo Insigne and Frosinone's Camillo Ciano coming close with eight attempts without a goal.

Napoli striker Arkadiusz Milik, who has scored two goals from just three free-kick attempts, is currently the most prolific set-piece taker in Italy, followed by AS Roma's Aleksandar Kolarov with two goals from seven attempts.

Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri stated in November that Ronaldo will share free-kick duties with Miralem Pjanic and Paulo Dybala – two players with a great free-kick conversion rates – but the striker is still taking most of them.

Overall, though, Ronaldo has scored from 56 direct free-kicks – 13 more than Messi – in his career, with his last successful conversion coming in Portugal's 3-3 draw with Spain at the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
