Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos, who has supported his former teammate Cristiano Ronaldo for many Ballons d'Or in the past, has now joked about Ronaldo and Lionel Messi's Golden Ball dominance.
Ronaldo and Messi have dominated the prestigious award over the past 12 years, with 2018 winner Luka Modric being the only player other than the duo to lift it before it was picked up a sixth time by the Argentine in 2019.
Ramos, who is a player with a lot of silverware but never really in contention for individual awards, has claimed it might be time to create a separate accolade for serial winners Messi and Ronaldo.
"They could make a Ballon d'Or only for Cristiano and Messi," he told TUDN.
"Then there could be another for the rest. In the end, it'd be better for football."
The 33-year-old also revealed his favourite UEFA Champions League moment of his career, naming his 93rd minute equaliser against Atletico Madrid in the 2013/14 final, which Los Blancos ended up winning 4-1 after extra-time.
"The goal in Lisbon," he explained.
"It's the most representative of recent years on a personal level and for Madrid.
"It changed history because it helped us to win it again and win three in a row.
"The Champions Leagues are like my children, though, I can't tell you which I love the most."
Ramos has been omitted from Zinedine Zidane's squad to face Percy Tau's Club Brugge in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday night, with Los Blancos having already secured their ticket to the knockout stages of the competition.
