Juventus striker Cristiano Ronaldo is often regarded as one of the best players of his generation, but a Serie A expert has now insisted his namesake Ronaldo Nazario was "much more complete".

Former Inter Milan coach Luigi Simoni was in charge of the Serie A giants during the 1997/98 campaign, during which the Nerazzurri lifted the UEFA Cup, before getting sacked the following season.
Ronaldo Nazario made 56 appearances under the Italian, scoring 38 goals, and Simoni has now insisted his striker was better than current Juventus forward Cristiano Ronaldo.
"My Ronaldo was much more complete, more unpredictable," he told SportNews.
"They're two different players. Cristiano is a good player, but 'il Fenomeno' was something else."
Ronaldo Nazario's career was disrupted by injuries before he retired with 291 club goals in 438 games, while Cristiano Ronaldo currently sits on 575 goals in 767 games at club level.

However, the Brazilian striker lifted two FIFA World Cups, while the famous Jules Rimet trophy has so far eluded his Portuguese namesake.
