Robert Lewandowski may not be able to lift the 2020 Ballon d'Or, but he capped a brilliant 2019/20 season with an incredible record Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo have never achieved.

The Bayern Munich forward ended the campaign with 55 goals in 47 appearances across all competitions for the German giants.
Lewandowski was not able to add to his tally in Sunday's Champions League final, but played an instrumental role in his side claiming their second official treble.
He was also the top goalscorer of the 2019/20 edition of Europe's elite club competition, scoring 15 goals in just 10 UCL games.
In addition, he also won the Bundesliga Golden Boot after netting 34 goals in 31 matches, and finished as the top scorer in the DFB Pokal with six strikes in five games.
As a consequence, Lewandowski has become the first player in history to win the treble while also ending up as the top scorer in all of the three competitions – a record neither Messi nor Ronaldo have achieved in their illustrious thus far careers.
Lewandowski would have been the clear favourite for this year's Ballon d'Or, but France Football decided to cancel the award this year due to the far-reaching impact of the coronavirus.

The 32-year-old might still be honoured by FIFA, though, with Bayern chief executive Karl-Heinz Rummenigge having told Kicker that Gianni Infantino had informed him that FIFA's The Best awards will take place later this year.
FIFA, however, are yet to officially confirm this.
