The Spanish Super Cup was Messi's 29th trophy since making his competitive debut for the Catalan giants in 2004.
In 12 years of senior football, the 29-year-old has lifted 29 titles, which means he averages more than two trophies per season.
Messi has already claimed eight La Liga titles, as well as four Copa del Reys. The Spanish Super Cup triumph against Sevilla ensured his seventh triumph in the competition.
In addition, he was won four Champions League titles, three European Super Cups and three Club World Cups.
The superstar is the joint-most successful player in Barcelona history, having won as many trophies as Andres Iniesta.
However, the Spaniard is already three years older, which means Messi could end up lifting more trophies with the Catalan giants, if he keeps playing for Barcelona, even after Iniesta's retirement.

Overall, though, Iniesta has lifted three more senior trophies than his teammate. While Messi is yet to lift a trophy with Argentina's senior national team, Iniesta has won three titles (one World Cup and two European Championships) with Spain.
