FC Barcelona superstar, Lionel Messi, was 100 percent fit to play the El Clasico, according to his coach Luis Enrique.
The Argentine reportedly took painkillers to face Real Madrid on Saturday, while Enrique said he is not a fan of injections.
"That's for the medics. If he needs an injection that's their decision, it's something for the patient and the player. I don't know, but he was 100% fit for the game," he told reporters.
"My advice is to avoid injections. Some injections can fix you, but you (the journalists) know my clear recommendation.
"He's got a knock, but he's ok, he's better. Medical issues are private matters for the player in question."
Enrique was also asked about Messi's goal record but the coach tried to shift the focus on the team rather than individuals.
"We started with a lot of records and the possibility for more. We're interested in the collective, and that's more important than any individual objective," he added.
Messi has currently scored 250 La Liga goals and is only one goal short of Telmo Zarra's all-time record. His next chance of breaking it comes on the weekend against Celta on Saturday.
