FC Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi picked up two trophies for his performances in LaLiga last season, while longstanding rival Cristiano Ronaldo did not win any accolade at the Marca 2017/18 Football Awards gala.

The Argentine forward collected the Pichichi trophy, which is handed out to the top goalscorer in the Spanish top flight.
Messi scored 34 goals in 36 LaLiga appearances in 2017/18, and became only the fifth player to lift the Pichichi trophy for a fifth time. The other players who ended as LaLiga's top goalscorer five times are Alfredo Di Stefano, Hugo Sanchez and Quini, while Telmo Zarra won it six times.
In addition, the Argentine was also named the 2017/18 Player of the Season and received the Trofeo Alfredo Di Stefano as a result.
Meanwhile, his longstanding rival Ronaldo, who scored 26 goals in his final LaLiga season before joining Juventus in the latest transfer window, did not win any prize.

Other big winners on the night include Jan Oblak, who was named the Goalkeeper of the Season after keeping the most clean sheets (22 in 37 games), and Iago Aspas, who was the best Spanish-born goalscorer with 22 strikes, while Valencia manager Marcelino picked up the Coach of the Season award.
