According to reports, Lionel Messi is fed up with the criticism he has received from the media during his time so far at Paris Saint-Germain.
Messi, who arrived at the Parc des Princes following a shock exit from Barcelona last year, has been heavily scrutinised by the French media ever since.
As per Le Parisien, the 2021 Copa America winner feels aggrieved by the persistent criticism aimed at him by the press in the country, and has made his feelings known to senior players in the PSG dressing room, believing the condemnation of his performances to be unfair.
The boiling point for the seven-time Ballon d'Or winner and his entourage seemingly came after the 34-year-old received negative reviews for his display in PSG's 1-0 victory over Real Madrid in the first leg of their round of 16 UEFA Champions League tie.
Some connected to the player jumped to his defence thereafter, including his former Argentina teammate Sergio Aguero and Monaco midfielder Cesc Fabregas.
Messi has scored just seven goals in 23 appearances across all competitions for Ligue 1's log leaders this season, but is the top assist provider with 11 in the French top flight, a feat that contradicts what the former Barcelona captain seemingly views as unfair disapproval from the media.
