The Portuguese superstar, and Real Madrid's leading goal scorer this season, Ronaldo has apparently been struggling with the same knee injury that nearly prevented him from playing in the 2014 World Cup.
Ronaldo, who has tendonitis on his knee, visited the same doctor that teammate, Luka Modric, and world famous tennis player, Rafael Nadal, went to for their similar injuries.
Marca reported that if Ronaldo were to undergo the surgery it would put him on the sidelines for up to six weeks.
The Ballon d'Or winner's knee reportedly hurts with every sprint, which is said to be the reason as to why Ronaldo has been playing a more central role upfront for Real Madrid, rather than out wide.
Los Blancos manager Carlo Ancelotti apparently played down his star's injury concerns, saying that his player is in good condition to continue.
Real Madrid currently occupy first place in the league, with Ronaldo having scored 28 La Liga goals this season from 19 games, while providing 12 assists for his team.
