Inter Miami Co-Owner Jorge Mas Says 'It Is Possible' For Lionel Messi To Join His Club

The co-owner of a budding new Major League Soccer (MLS) franchise has suggested there is a possibility that Lionel Messi could join his club.

Jorge Mas, who partly owns Inter Miami with football legend David Beckham, has seemingly hinted that the Argentine could be crossing the Atlantic Ocean to join his club, and that they will push to secure his services when his stay in Paris concludes.

On the face of it, Messi has endured a tumultuous debut campaign with Paris Saint-Germain following his shock move from Barcelona at the beginning of the season, and it seems his future is already in doubt.

The Argentina captain has not been as productive at the Parc des Princes as many would have initially thought after forming an attacking trident featuring him, Neymar and Mbappe, having scored only seven goals and assisted 11 further strikes for the French team.

Mas is seemingly looking to take advantage of the uncertainly around the player's situation in Paris, saying that Inter Miami will try to sign Messi, whose relationship with Beckham may help them conclude a deal.

"Leo Messi is still one of the best players in the world, his skills have not diminished. I think, and David has a relationship with him, if he does leave PSG, at the time he leaves it, we'd love to see Lionel Messi be a player at Inter Miami and be part of our community," Mas said, as reported by Goal.

"Can it happen? Look, we'll push. I'm an optimist at heart.

"Could I see that happening? It's a possibility."

Messi has previously admitted he would consider playing in the United States, when he submitted a transfer request to Barcelona before the start of the 2020/21 season.

'Messi Ronaldo Made The Wrong Moves!'

"I always said that I have the impression that I would like to enjoy the experience of living in the United States, of living in that league and that life, but if it happens or not, I don't know," he said at the time.
