How Much Cristiano Ronaldo Earns For Winning Ballon d'Or Revealed?

With Cristiano Ronaldo still in the running to lift the Ballon d'Or this year, how much money he would earn if he claims his sixth Golden Ball has now reportedly been revealed.

The Juventus superstar missed out on the Uefa Men's Player of the Year award, with Virgil van Dijk picking up the title two weeks ago, but is among the final three nominees for Fifa's The Best Men's Player accolade.

The next Ballon d'Or winner will only be announced in December, but it is believed that Ronaldo will also be in the running for that coveted prize.

So far, the Portugal talisman has won the Golden Ball five times, which has earned him a significant sum of income from his personal sponsor Nike.

According to Der Spiegel, who reportedly had access to a copy of a draft version of Ronaldo's contract with the sportswear manufacturer, the A Selecao captain signed a 10-year deal worth a whopping €162 million (R2.6 billion) in 2016.

The deal reportedly runs until 2026 and grants Ronaldo €16 million (R259 million) per season, plus a €4 million (R65 million) bonus for every global accolade, such as the Ballon d'Or and Fifa's The Best award, he wins. It is unclear whether or not Ronaldo will receive double the amount should he win both awards in the same year.

Neither Gestifute, the firm headed by Ronaldo's agent Jorge Mendes, nor Nike have commented on the revelations thus far.
