FC Barcelona Star: What It Feels To Be Lionel Messi & Cristiano Ronaldo's Teammate

Nelson Semedo (Messi – FC Barcelona, Ronaldo – Portugal)

Not many players have played alongside both Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, and a current FC Barcelona star has opened up about being teammates with the two rivals at the same time, before defending the Real Madrid man's recent scoring form.

Nelson Semedo, who plies his club football with Messi and runs out alongside Ronaldo for Portugal, feels privileged to have the two best players of his generation as teammates at the same time.

"Not many have this opportunity and I can play beside the best two players in the world," Semedo told Sport.

"Right now, this only happens to me and Andre Gomes. We are privileged! It's great to play with the best and, without doubt, that's what they are."

Semedo, who has made 17 appearances for the Blaugrana so far this season, also believes that Ronaldo will soon return to scoring regularly.

"Cristiano Ronaldo is not scoring as many goals as before in La Liga but he has given assists and scored in the Champions League," he added.

"I don't think it's his fault. I think that, on a general level, the problem is that Real Madrid are not doing well and obviously he's the one that ends up hurt by that, he loses out.

"They aren't giving him so many balls or creating as many chances. He's still a great player that gives everything on the pitch."

Real currently sit eight points behind La Liga leaders Barcelona, and will miss the next game round due to their participation at the FIFA Club World Cup. However, they will have a chance to cut the gap on their bitter rivals when they face each other in the next El Clasico on 23 December.
