Messi: These Three Stars Can Challenge Ronaldo And I For The Ballon D'Or
Midfielder Ivan Rakitic was full of praise for the Argentine in a recent interview, claiming that although the 30-year-old is up there with the best to have ever played the game, he is timid because he knows that all eyes are usually on him.
"He's the reference. Our game depends a lot on him. He doesn't need to talk to understand, a gesture is enough," Rakitic told Antena 3.
"He is the best in history, capable of turning the game around in a second. He is shy because he knows that everyone is watching him.
"He was one of the first to support me when I arrived and I was wondering if I needed something.
"He is a different person from the others."
