The Austrian international was recently asked for his opinion on the two world superstars, and suggested that while the Portuguese is a great trainer, the Catalan club forward is not from this planet.
"I like them both," Alaba said, as quoted by AS.
"Cristiano Ronaldo works very hard, day by day, hour by hour, for his success.
"Messi, with the ball, is not human."
The pair have shared the FIFA Ballon d'Or stage for the past eight years, with Messi winning the award five times, and Ronaldo lifting the accolade on three occasions.

Many have tipped the Los Blancos forward to lift this year's prestigious prize as he won the UEFA Champions League with Real Madrid and the 2016 European Championship with Portugal.
