Legendary striker Cristiano Ronaldo has reflected on breaking the record for most goals scored in a single Saudi Pro League (SPL) campaign in his first full season in the division.

Leaving Europe has not stopped the Funchal native from doing what has made him a household name in world football, breaking goalscoring records. The 39-year-old signed for Saudi giants Al Nassr in December 2022, playing half of the 2022/23 campaign.
However, in his first full campaign in the oil-rich kingdom, the Portuguese icon has broken Abderrazak Hamdallah's 2018/19 single season goalscoring record of 34.

Ronaldo scored 35 for the Knights of Najd, and during his acceptance of the SPL Golden Boot, the forward revealed that the 2023/24 campaign was one the best of his career.
"To be honest it means a lot because it's my work," the five-time Ballon d'Or winner said, as per ESPN.
"I have to be honest and say it's not something I was looking for at the beginning of the season but over time I started to see that it was possible. So, I have the opportunity to say thank you to my teammates because without the team nothing individually would have been possible.

"I feel very proud to beat the Saudi league record. It's great for me, I feel happy, and this is my motivation to play football, to train every time and to carry on like that."
