The relationship between the pair has often been questioned this season, and it seems it has now hit a new low after the coach attempted to talk to the Portuguese superstar about his free-kick technique.
According to El Chiringuito, Benitez suggested that Ronaldo should use biometric studies in order to improve his free-kicks. However, the forward did not take the advice too kindly, and left the room.
Ronaldo scored from a direct free-kick against Malmo in the Champions League last week, but that was his first free-kick goal in six and a half months.
His free-kick success rate has decreased dramatically over the past couple of seasons, while set-piece experts such as James Rodriguez and Gareth Bale have often had to step aside for the superstar.
The clash between Ronaldo and Benitez comes just a few days after Real's 1-0 loss to Villarreal, a game in which Los Blancos wasted an opportunity to cut the gap on FC Barcelona, who could only draw with Deportivo La Coruna.

This is the latest incident in a troublesome season for Benitez – Real were expelled from the Copa del Rey after fielding an ineligible player, humiliated by FC Barcelona in El Clasico, and there have been several clashes between the manager and key players too.
