Ronaldo missed out on Juve's final Serie A game as he was rested by Massimiliano Allegri, who had earlier confirmed the 34-year-old would not feature in order to remain fresh for his country's UEFA Nations League semi-final.

As a consequence, the striker was not able to add to his 21 league goals in 2018/19, finishing the Capocannoniere race in fourth position.

Evergreen Sampdoria forward Fabio Quagliarella won the Golden Boot in Italy for the first time after netting 26 goals in this campaign.

Atalantan's Duvan Zapata finished second with 23 strikes, while Krzysztof Piatek beat Ronaldo to the third spot on the podium with 22 goals.

The Portuguese striker, though, only featured in 31 league games this season as he was rested a number of times ahead of important UEFA Champions League matches.
