Alvaro Arbeloa Comes To Cristiano Ronaldo's Defence

Alvaro Arbeloa Comes To Cristiano Ronaldo's Defence

Alvaro Arbeloa believes Cristiano Ronaldo has etched his name into Real Madrid history and defended the Portuguese star's professionalism.

Why €94m For CR7 Could Be A Bargain For Man Utd

Arbeloa believes that, considering what Ronaldo has done for the club, he has every right to express his anger towards his critics. He believes that Ronaldo has made as big an impact on Real Madrid's history as the late Alfredo di Stefano.

"He has every right to feel that he was treated unfairly," the Real Madrid youth graduate told Chiringuito de Jugones. "Cristiano's commitment cannot be matched. He is always the first on the training pitch and looks after himself at home.

"Real Madrid's history is marked by Alfredo Di Stefano and by Cristiano Ronaldo. I do not know how long it will take before Madrid see another player like him."

The three-time Ballon d'Or winner was criticized after he held a birthday party following his team's embarrassing defeat to Atletico Madrid in February and the former Liverpool defender has publically defended him.

"People have been unfair toward Cristiano Ronaldo. Nobody can doubt his professionalism," he added.
