FC Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi has racked up many individual records in his career, which means he will almost certainly go down in history as one the greatest footballers ever. According to Squawka, here are 10 milestones the Argentine star could still own one day.

The 30-year-old has had his ups and downs at the Catalan club, but has enjoyed tremendous success with the side ever since he broke into the senior team when he was just 17 years old. 

Messi has won the Ballon d'Or a record five times, and was also named UEFA's Best Player in Europe on three occasions, along with a whole host of other awards.

However, here are 10 records Messi has not broken just yet, according to Squawka:

1. Make the most Barcelona appearances – Xavi (767 appearances)

2. Net the most goals for Barcelona in the Copa del Rey – Josep Samitier (65 goals)

3. Become the most capped Argentine – Javier Zanetti (143 caps)

4. Score the most goals for Argentina at a World Cup finals – Gabriel Batistuta (10 goals)

5. Accumulate the most goals in the Champions League – Cristiano Ronaldo (105 goals)

6. Ended up with the most career goals in Europe's top six leagues – Cristiano Ronaldo (372 goals)

7. Score the most La Liga hat-tricks – Cristiano Ronaldo (32 hat-tricks)

8. Hold the longest La Liga goal streak in consecutive home matches – Mariano Martin (scored in 18 consecutive home matches)

9. Be the Barcelona player with the most Champions League final appearances – Andres Iniesta (four)

10. Have the most appearances in El Clasico – Manuel Sanchis (43 appearances)
