Manchester United chiefs are reportedly concerned about one of Erik ten Hag's big-money signings, with their true feelings on the player believed to have to come to light.
Man Utd Star In Car Accident, 'Wrecks' BMW
According to ESPN, the Red Devils are said to feel they might have spent too much money on Brazil attacker Antony, 22, who arrived from Ajax Amsterdam at the start of the season.
The winger was lured to Old Trafford for a staggering £82 million (R1.6 billion) after just two years in the Eredivisie, with his fee potentially set to rise by a further £4 million (R82 million) in performance-related bonuses.
Following a bright start to life at the Premier League club, Antony has had a complicated past few months, with the board and his manager Ten Hag reportedly feeling he should offer more on the field.
Before he was signed, the Brazilian was said to be one of just three left-footed right-wingers to make the scouting department's shortlist, while the club's hierarchy moved for his signature after he showed a great desire to reunite with Ten Hag.
The Dutchman had forged a good relationship with the former Sao Paulo player following his arrival at Ajax in 2020.
Another reason United eventually did fork out the cash demanded by the Dutch giants was due to concerns that several sides across Europe would be looking for a player of his profile in 2023.
