Revealed: Two Man Utd Stars Racked Up R1.7m In Late Fines

Former Manchester United star Nemanja Matic has shockingly revealed two players who racked up £75,000 (R1.7million) in fines for being late.

The Serbian midfielder reveals there was an internal disciplinary committee among the players to deal with these issues.

Matic, who left United in 2022, has revealed Paul Pogba and Jadon Sancho were always late.

"At Chelsea, players acted professionally, they were punctual and were never late for training but at United it happened almost every day,' Matic said speaking to YouTube channel YU Planet.

"Among the players who would always be late were Paul Pogba and Jadon Sancho and couple of other players."

Sancho is currently exiled from the Red Devils first team, after public fall-out with manager Erik ten Hag who complained about the player's effort at training.

Matic reveals some of the players were angry decided to form a internal disciplinary committee and fine players, with the money going towards a celebration.

"The rest of us who were always on time were angry so we decided to form a kind of an internal disciplinary committee with me serving as its president," he added.

"I put a sheet of paper up on the wall where I documented the names of individuals arriving late. During one particular season we collected around £75,000 in fines.

"We had planned to use the money to throw a party in London but we didn't due to the Covid outbreak."
